Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum* rrp £17
The winter months always leave my skin feeling dehydrated, dry and just not at it's best, so products that aim to soothe and hydrate are essential. Avene are a french brand that I hadn't heard much of until Escentual started their March offer of up to a third off French Pharmacy brands. Avene promote the properties of the Avene Thermal Spring Water, a therapeutic ingredient in each product, that helps to soothe even the most irritated skin types.
The Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum is best applied after cleansing and before moisturising the skin. It's been easy to add into my routine as it sinks in straight away. It's a very light weight and silicon-gel like formula that feels really calming when I apply it. I've been using this morning and night for the past three weeks whilst my skin has been breaking out and just generally being a bit angry due to sickness, stress and all the crap weather.
I can definitely see an improvement in the smoothness of my skin since using this, it has made my skin feel more comfortable and stops it from looking so dull. It keeps my redness under control and has really helped to soothe breakouts, I wouldn't say it makes them go away any quicker but it calms the redness from those horrid blemishes. It leaves my skin feeling instantly more hydrated and smooth but not weighed down. The light weight formula means it doesn't clog up my pores too.
If you are in need of something to help sort out dull, dry or dehydrated skin then I definitely recommend checking out the Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum, especially if you have sensitive skin. I'm impressed with it and would definitely consider repurchasing it in the future.
If you are in need of some new skin care then head over to Escentual before March ends to check out the fab deals on French Pharmacy brands, I have my eye on some La Roche-Posay products!

*pr sample, review 100% honest as always.
