I dropped out of uni earlier this year after loosing my Mum and realising how much debt I'd be in if I stayed on the three year course of Events Management I was studying. Since then I have been working part time and looking after my puppy Bertie but am now looking to find an internship or entry role job in the Beauty Industry within a field I am interested in such as Social Media, PR and Events. Trust me it's seriously hard if you don't have a degree!
Pitman Training offer a range of different courses and diplomas that can be studied in a centre local to you with the course advisors or at home or work through support by email and telephone. Or you could mix both and train at home and in a centre when it suits you. All courses and diplomas are seriously quick in comparison to the amount of time it takes to complete a university degree, for example the Events Management Essentials Course and the Social Media Diploma can be done in a few hours. After completeing the training there is a formal assessment which determines your grade as Pass or Distinction. All certificates are nationally and internationally recognised.
Pitman Training has partnerships with a wide range of different businesses and companies to help you find a job, improve your cv and generally support you when you have finished your training. Would you consider training on a short course to improve your employability or learn new skills?

Sorry to hear about your mummy doll. I lost my brother 2years ago and its def hard when you lose such a big part of your life. I still find it hard everyday!
ReplyDeleteYour mummy would be very proud of you.
This sounds like a great idea. I would love to enrol in a course or two that would help my career in beauty and management. Great post.

Hi Ellie,
ReplyDeleteI'm new to all this and just came across your lovely blog on Twitter! My Mum passed away just 6 weeks before I started University so I know how hard it is - you are obviously a brilliant blogger so I'm sure you shouldn't feel under qualified.
I worked in beauty PR for a while so have a few contacts if you wanted to get in touch - don't give up!
Keep smiling x
