Hi lovelies,
I recently picked up my first few MAC lipsticks. It's safe to say they are a luxury item for me as they are a bit pricey for a lipstick when you are on a student budget, but then having a loan means I am allowed to treat myself to a few luxuries every now and then right? I asked which lipstick shades I should have a look at and Vegas Volt was one of the most popular choices.
Obviously I love the packaging, everybody does! You pay for what you get and I feel like this is worth the extra money over a drugstore lipstick as it is beautiful. It is sleek and classic and just makes me happy when I look at it. The sound when the lid clicks back onto the tube is so satisfying! Yes I know, I am weird.
Vegas Volt is an Amplified finish. From what I have read this means they tend to be extremely pigmented, creamy and bright. Honestly I cannot compare the finishes of the MAC lipsticks as this is my first one!
Vegas Volt is a gorgeous, bright coral shade which is quite warm, meaning pretty much any skin tone could get away with wearing it, even us pale girls. It has hints of pink and orange that blend together beautifully leaving one of the nicest corals I have ever seen. Vegas Volt is bold and it will get you noticed but it is cool enough to be worn in the daytime and not look over the top, not that I would care! You would also easily be able to tone it down with a lip gloss or by blending it out.
This is the most pigmented lipstick I have ever owned, one swatch is more pigmentation than I would have ever expected. It is so incredibly creamy, it has a very smooth texture and feels so soft. It did not pull or tug on my lips when I applied it, and it felt very moisturising too. The lipstick also has a lovely sweet and vanillery scent, which I really love.
Vegas Volt lasted about four hours before I felt the need to touch it up in some parts. I did find that it tends to leave a subtle stain on my lips too, which is really nice. It is probably more of a summer colour but I will be wearing it all year round! At £14 it is slightly pricey, but you are paying for the brand name and the quality is worth the extra pennies.
Go and swatch it for yourself in store and try not to fall in love!
Vegas Volt costs £14 and can be picked up online or in most department stores.
Have you tried Vegas Volt? What is your favourite MAC lipstick shade?
p.s A big thank you to everyone for the support this past week, it is a horrible time at the moment for me but your comments and messages have made me feel that I am not alone and people do care, x x
