Review | Natural Collection Lipstick Pink Mallow

Today when I was browsing in Boots I added to my lipstick collection with this lovely from Natural Collection. It cost £1.99. I already have a few other lipsticks from Natural Collection in other shades such as Cranberry, a rich red colour .

The shade I picked up was Pink Mallow. I have been looking for softer lipstick shades as the weather gets better as I have been wearing deep reds and pinks for way too long.

The packaging is pretty simple and plain but it is what you would expect for a cheap price. I would say to be careful with the lipstick packaging as it does not feel very sturdy, however I have had no problems with any of my Natural Collection lipsticks so far.

This does not show how soft pink the lipstick is as my camera was mucking me around today, it is a flattering pink which I think would suit all skin tones.

My lips were very dry today so this picture is not a good example of how lovely the colour is.
I would say the best way to get the most of this lipstick is too make sure you have some sort of balm or moisturiser on your lips before you apply as it can be slightly drying and the softer your lips are the more long lasting the lipstick is.

I will definitely keep purchasing this brand of lipstick in other colours as they are good for every day wear for a cheap price!

Review | MUA Mosaic Blusher and Contour Pen

Continuing my adventures into the world of MUA make up, I recently purchased two of their newest products, the Mosaic Blusher English Rose and 3 in 1 Contour Pen.

The Contour Pen is available in a range of colours, however I stuck to what I know and purchased the black pen. It costs £1.50 from Superdrug and is a good size for the price.

The pen has a angled nib which can be used to create a variety of looks. I have only ever used a standard nib so was interested as to if this would actually be any different.

The back of the packaging shows you three different looks that you could create with the different angles on the pen. The three looks are "Dramatic", "Glamorous" and "Ultra Chic". I have not tried any of these as it seemed a bit fussy and I am too impatient!

I used the edge of the nib to create a straight line across the eyelid which was fairly easy to do. However I noticed that the point of the pen had already curved away from the straight point that it originally had so it may be difficult to create the looks exactly how the packaging tells you too.

I was quite impressed with the result of the Contour Pen, the colour was quite strong and easy to apply.
However it did not last all day and faded fairly quickly. It also seems smug able so would be good for creating a "smokey eye".

I never use blusher and this is the first one I have purchased in a few years. It cost £2.50 from Superdrug.
The packaging is simple and the blusher is a fairly decent size for the price.

The colours are lovely and compliment each other well. At first I thought the mauve would stand out but it blends in and is not as strong as I thought it would be. There is a slight shimmer to the blusher but it is still subtle and I would wear it daily. It lasted for about 6-7 hours. Quite impressive for the price!

Sorry for the startled look. I had not been awake long! (poor excuse)
I had to put a fair amount of blusher on to make it noticeable but do not think it shows a lot.

Review | MUA Love Heart Lip Balm

I have never purchased anything from the MUA range at Superdrug, the cheap prices have strangely always put me off. However their latest collaboration with Love Hearts has had me intrigued.

The Love Hearts range includes nail polishes and lip balms both priced at £2. I already own nail varnishes in similar colours to this range so decided to try the lip balm.

I picked the lip balm 'Sweet Kiss'. I think the packaging is so sweet, and the pot is a decent size for the price of £2.

The colour in the pot looks pale and baby pink. It smells deliciously of vanilla as well so its difficult not too lick your lips when it is on!

My lips above are natural. They are a soft pink anyway so thought this balm would add a nice gloss.

With the lip balm on it does not look like there is much colour difference however my lips were shinier and had a fairly softer pink tint too them.

I was disappointed with the colour of this lip balm as for me it has not added much colour, however the balm has stayed on well for a good few hours and seems to be fairly moisturising. I like the smell and packaging of the lip balm and will buy another balm in a stronger colour, either Kiss Me or Hot Lips to see if I just picked the wrong shade for me. But for £2 you cant really complain!

Review | Loverdose by Diesel Perfume

Diesel Loverdose is the latest female fragrance created by Diesel.

"A beautiful but deadly weapon of seduction. Ignite passion like never before."

I have loved this perfume ever since I first got sprayed by the annoying perfume women at work.
After dropping hints (writing I WANT THIS PLEASE) I was sad not to get it for Christmas but now it is mineeeee.

My usual daily perfume is Vanilla from The Body Shop as I love sweet smelling scents that last all day, plus it is cheap so I do not have to restrict how much I use! However I have become so used to this perfume I do not even notice it anymore, I wanted something new and strong that would excite me whenever I smelt it. Loverdose is perfect.

The bottle is beautiful! It is made too look like a heart being struck by a dagger. It is very eye catching and stands out between my other bottles of perfume on the dressing table! The deep purple colour also seems to work well with the fragrance, weird I know.

The fragrance is unique and completely addictive. It is slightly floral but spicy which goes really well together. The strongest smells are mandarin and star anise, followed by the luscious fragrances of jasmine, liquorice, and vanilla. It has a strong staying power and truly lasts all day.

I purchased the 50ml gift set from Debenhams which came with the body lotion. It was reduced in the sale to about £32 but due to staff discount and beauty points I only paid £10! Bargain. The gift set can be purchased for the best price here, a good price considering the perfume individually is quite pricey.

Much love x
